Batch to Sorter Picking

General Workflow:
  1. Voice commands direct operators to specific pick locations to pick the total quantity for all open orders.
  2. Operators pick the items and put them into totes and continue picking within their assigned pick zone until the tote is full.
  3. The conveyor system transports full totes from various pick zones to the mechanical sortation system where each item is individually scanned and inducted.
  4. Items are delivered to specific sort points until orders are fully consolidated.
  5. Consolidated orders are routed to packing areas.

General Workflow: Lights


  1. Operators begin tours by scanning labels on a series of empty totes or shipping containers (shipper) and placing them on a cart (mobile shelving). Each tote/shipper is dedicated to a specific customer order.
  2. Lighted displays direct operators to specific picking locations and indicate the quantity to be picked.
  3. Lighted displays on the cart identity the corresponding order totes or shippers.
  4. Operators make picks, press lighted buttons at pick locations to confirm, put the items into totes or shippers, and press lighted buttons on the cart to confirm.
  5. Items can optionally be scanned for added accuracy.
